Initial Offshore Medic Course
This two-week UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved course encompasses all aspects of the legal requirements, alongside the latest clinical thinking. The offshore installations and pipeline works (first aid) regulations 1989 placed a duty on those in control of offshore installations, pipeline works, or any associated activities to make provision for persons to administer first aid and emergency treatment to those who become ill or injured at work.
Course structure
The initial offshore medic course is a four-week modular programme. This allows students to complete the course in four consecutive weeks or two initial classroom-based theory and practical weeks followed by the remaining two weeks in placement (Minimum 60 hours) and examination. The placements need to be completed within a 12 month period. You can arrange your own placements if you wish but a passport of skills provided by Adventuremed needs to be completed before your OSM certificate is issued. Please contact us to discuss.
